Good food made to order with fresh quality ingredients. A no brainer for those seeking a more wholesome and nutritious meal for breakfast or lunch. The Salad bar remains one of the best and includes a delightful selection of fresh fruits, veggies, protein and other tasty treats. Can't get enough!

Regular lunch spot for many. Sandwiches are made from factory made deli meats and cheese. Bread is standard fare storebought. If you're looking for traditional house cured and smoked pastrami, and house baked rye bread, then this isn't the place. Check out Charleston Bakery and Delicatessen if you want real Jewish deli food. At East Bay, I almost always order the salad bar, which is nicely stocked, but expensive. If you order a water they give you a mini cheap plastic cup as opposed to a standard Styrofoam cup.

Good food, friendly staff, and my choices of specialty sandwiches. Overall a very good deli.

There are many of these restaurants throughout Charleston. Each is very well ran and has great food. Would definitely recommend. Except if you are on a diet; stay away from the desert case. It's a killer.

Carolina classic was good just a little on the dry side for my taste. The desserts looked amazing...must try them next time I am there.

Bread was stale and tasted a little bit like the air in the restaurant . Service was really slow. The turkey sandwich wasn't tasteful at all . It tasted like it was made from a Chinese factory had a fake flavor to it. Lettuce and tomatoes wasn't all that fresh. Heck tomatoes shouldn't of been harvested, still had a green color to it.

Love this place for lunch. Just about everything on the menu is wicked good. Chicken Charleston, Buffalo chicken wrap, gyros sandwich, Hawaiian ham melt are all recommended. Also, the salad bar is one of the best in town, with a wide variety of ingredients, including plenty of protein (a requirement for me), and some outstanding blue cheese dressing. Friendly staff and fast service.

Had the Reuben. Should be a good sandwich for any place calling them self a deli. The corned beef is the processed reconstituted type, not freshly sliced from a corned beef roast. Need I say more?

Walk in, place your order at the register, then take a seat. Or.... if you go for the salad bar, then you can head right over there before taking a seat. Next to the register, you'll see a case with cheesecakes..... really good looking cheesecakes! I haven't tried them yet, but my will power is going to give in very soon! Their sandwiches are really good. Their fries are amazing! Chicken tenders are good too... they're the typical tenders, nothing fancy. Usually when I come for lunch, I go for the salad bar. Their options are perfect and plentiful...never boring. The tuna salad is addicting... and I'm not kidding. Tip: I often see coupons for East Bay Deli in the mail, but I always forget to use them. Take advantage of the discount if you can!

We went for lunch one day and really didn't have a good time at all. the line was to the door, but we assumed that it would move quickly, being that they were jammed at lunchtime....wrong. It took about ten minutes to get to the counter. When we were seated, it was about 30 minutes more to get a sandwich and a wrap. My husband completely didn't like his wrap (portabella mushroom) because it was watery and the tortilla was squishy. It was also much smaller than my sandwich. I got the Dixie Darling (roast beef, turkey, swiss, coleslaw on rye.) There was so much meat on it, there is no human who could have taken a bite of it. I had to deconstruct the sandwich just to eat it. Messy, too. I know people want their money's worth when they go somewhere but it was ridiculous. The place was very, very crowded and very loud. We couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone have a conversation. We'll not be back to this location -- I've had better experiences at the East Bay Deli on University Blvd.

From great to gross in two short months. When East Bay opened up on Dorchester I was excited because there are few restaurants to chose from in the area. I fell in love right away. I had so many favorites and everyone at the office was laughing because I had an addicition. Be it Tessa's Turkey or the Turkey & Cranberry Croissant, by 10 am I was thinking about the deli and reading the menu outloud to my coworkers. But about two weeks ago it fell apart. The deli meat started tasting funny, the ingredients were sloppy and lacking on each of my sandwiches, and the service went from a smile to a rush-rush atmosphere. Then there was today, I ordered take out and when I returned to my office and opened the container disappointment settled in. My kaiser roll looked like it had been driven over, there was only a 1/2 tsp. of cream cheese on the roll, the avocado was brown, the tomatoe still had the stem on it, and only half a slice of burnt bacon was present. The girl next to me told me to take it back, being stuck with a tight deadline at work I didn't have the time, so it got thrown in the trash. Lets take a moment of silence as I say farewell to the deli down the street.

It is a good business lunch place. The salad bar was well kept and I enjoyed the chicken on ciabatta bread.

Tried to get delivery to N. Charleston, from not 1, not 2 but 3 different East Bay Deli and none would delivery to Ashley Phosphate Rd, a VERY main road that is in between a few Delis. Was at my office and could not leave to do pick up so they lost the business of an office of 5 people ordering lunch

I have dined at the East Bay (actual) location for lunch previously and have been to this particular location once for breakfast & most recently lunch. The breakfast portions are HUGE & delicious. For lunch, this past trip, I had a marinated chicken breast salad. Again, portions were huge. You could easily split this salad with someone. The chicken was marinated perfectly & delicious. I really like this place. My friend, the local, who frequents this place pretty regularly says it is good but noticed that the cashiers are usually less than friendly. The one we had this past time blankly started ahead with robotic like movements & not even a greeting other than giving me my order total. It was hardly "busy" but maybe she was having an off day.

While working near the airport, we've tried a lot of different places for lunch and this has to be one of my favorites (see EVO pizza and Sesame Burger for a step above). I like it because I feel like I can eat reasonably healthy and it's tasty. They have a pretty good salad bar, lots of variety. I also like to get their chicken and cranberry sandwich: chicken, dried cranberries, field greens, cheese (swiss maybe, i'm drawing a blank), and balsamic vinaigrette on a ciabatta roll. It's a good standard deli lunch place. Works for me.

I love East Bay Deli. My favorite sandwich is the Citadel and the salad bar is fantastic too! This is one of my favorite sandwich places to eat. We have since moved across the country, and I am missing their chicken salad! I would recommend this place to a friend! It is a little more expensive than some other sandwich shops, but worth it in my opinion.

I've been here several times, usually with coworkers who absolutely ADORE this place. I have yet to figure out why they like it so much. When you get in it is very loud, regardless of how crowded it is. I think the warehouse quality makes the place echo. In any case, you line up to order at the cash register and then they bring the food to you. BTW, they don't deliver unless you have a very large order... like catering. The food itself is okay... I ordered a turkey club once, which was tasty enough (bacon makes everything better), with chips since fries cost extra. It did taste freshly made. The next time, I ordered a turkey melt because one of my coworkers raves about how she gets it every time. It was less than okay. It was a little soggy, not very hot, and the cheese tasted kind of weird. And it dripped, which was not the most pleasant thing. Service isn't really an issue here because you get your own drinks, clear your own plates, etc. All they do is bring you the food. Since they didn't have to clean up after me, I didn't tip. Oh, one time I got a cookie (because it was free) and I was really excited to eat it. Once I bit into it, I realized that it was free that week for a reason. I don't know if their cookies are normally very dry, crumbly, nearly tasteless, and hard, but this one was. I thought I'd lost a tooth. I wouldn't even subject my DOG to that cookie (and she'll eat hard biscuits!)... in fact, I would almost rather eat my dog's biscuit. Overall, very disappointing experiences at East Bay Deli. I've tried it at least 3 times now, and I think I've given it enough chances to change my mind. I will not be visiting it again, even if my coworkers want to go.
